Canadian-born Negreanu is one of five contenders to be named International Player of the Year award at a sensational ceremony at the Hippodrome Casino in London on 3 March.

He is joined on the shortlist by a who’s-who of the world’s poker talent, including David ‘Bakes’ Baker, who made a remarkable three final tables at the WSOP in 2013, and online high-stakes sensation Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom.

The shortlist is rounded out by German star Marvin Rettenmaier, who cashed in 18 live tournaments in 2013 for more than $660,000, and Dan Kelly, who made the money a phenomenal nine times at WSOP events in Las Vegas and France.

“The International Player of the Year Award is hotly contested as always, and all five of this year’s nominees produced some stunning performances in 2013,” said Michael Caselli, Bluff Europe editor-in-chief.

“With none of the previous winners in the running this year we are set to name a new champion, and whoever takes home the award will be a worthy winner.”

The 2013 British Poker Awards is organised by Bluff Europe Magazine and sponsored by PokerStars.com. It will take place on March 3rd at the Hippodrome Casino in London with live music provided by the Dukes of Mayfair.
