Vote for the Best Poker League at the British Poker Awards

2014logo_160.png 5 December 2014, London, UK (Press Release) — The British Poker Awards (www.thebritishpokerawards.com) is set to recognise grassroots poker once more, as five of the country’s leading poker groups are in contention for the Best Poker League award.

The British Poker Awards has included this category in every year of the British Poker Awards’ existence, and it has been hotly contested with three different winners in four years so far.

This year’s nominees are the Betfred Pub Poker League, Champions Poker League, Discover Poker League, Live Pub Poker League and reigning champions Redtooth Poker.

“While they might not get the television coverage like the larger tournaments seen all over the UK, poker leagues are important in continuing the development of the game at all levels,” said Michael Caselli, editor-in-chief of Bluff Europe.

“All five of this year’s nominees have played a significant role in giving people a friendly environment to play poker and learn the game at their own pace.”

The Best Poker League award is one of 16 awards to be handed out at a glamorous ceremony in central London on February 23rd, 2015, alongside categories including Performance of the Year and Best UK Tournament.

All of this year’s nominees have been selected by an independent panel of experienced poker journalists including CalvinAyre.com’s Lee Davy, PokerNews.com’s Matthew Pitt and PokerStrategy.com’s Barry Carter, along with RankingHero’s Nicolas Levi, Late Night Poker creator Nic Szeremeta and ‘Voice of Poker’ Jesse May.

Voting closes on 31 December, and all members of the public wishing to have their say are encouraged to head to www.thebritishpokerawards.com to cast their vote.
