06 NOVEMBER 2012 (LONDON, UK) – Now in its third year, SportBusiness Group and iGaming Business are coming together to deliver the Sport and iGaming Conference 2012 at Pinsent Masons LLP on 29th November 2012.
This one day conference is the only event in the calendar addressing the links between these two sectors, making it the most relevant event of the year for professionals working in the space. The event brings together rights holders, brands, gaming operators and industry suppliers from both sectors to provide both unique networking opportunities and the chance to learn more about the gains to be made from cross sport- iGaming partnerships.
The event will feature speakers from some of the biggest names in the industry including Paul Scotney Director of Integrity Services British Horseracing Authority and Mike O’Kane Chief Bookmaker/ Board Member at ESSA, Trevor Watkins, Head of Sport at Pinsent Masons LLP, alongside Michael Caselli, Editor in Chief at iGaming Business and Kevin Roberts, Editorial Director at SportBusiness Group.
Shona ODonnell, Head of Operations at SportBusiness and iGaming Business, states, “We are delighted to have the continued support of Pinsent Masons for this event which has seen year on year growth. We are excited to have a number of key industry figures sharing their insight and experience with our delegates.”
Online gambling brands are now recognised as the fasted growing sponsor of professional sport. The European Gaming and Betting Association states that in 2012 the gambling sector ranked at number eight in the top 10 investors as sponsors of sports teams and events in Europe and in the UK alone 28 per cent of Premier League and Championship football clubs have a gaming company as a shirt sponsor. Leading publishers, SportBusiness Group and iGaming Business recognise the massive growth in this sector and have aligned to produce the Sport and iGaming Conference to meet the demands of the market for information and analysis around it.
Attending last year’s event, Andy Lulham, Head of UK Sports PR, Betfair stated: “Sport and iGaming are intrinsically linked, both in terms of the product itself, and also the marketing activity around it. Just look at the number of Premier League football clubs with a betting brand as their shirt sponsor, for example. Last year’s Sport and iGaming conference was a fantastic event, attended by the industry’s leading brands and individuals. The sessions were both informative and engaging, whilst the case studies showcased some great work, particularly around sponsorship activation.”
