Can UKIPT Nottingham Retain its Title at this Year’s British Poker Awards?

2013logo_1602.png 12 February 2014, London, UK (Press Release) — On March 3rd, at the Hippodrome on Leciester Square, the best of British Poker will converge to find out who, out of more than 60 nominees, will be crowned the winners in over 18 different categories.

2013 was a huge year for live poker in the UK, and over 3,000 poker players have voted for the British Poker Awards (BPA) Tournament of the Year at The British Poker Awards website (www.thebritishpokerawards.com).

While the UKIPT Nottingham took honours at the 2012 ceremony, the 2013 stop faces tough competition, not least from the he always-popular London leg of the European Poker Tour.

Making up the shortlist are the GUKPT Goliath – which saw a monstrous 1,822 players descend on Coventry in August – as well as a second event held at UKIPT Nottingham’s home, the mammoth Dusk Till Dawn Grand Prix.

“Poker players in the UK were really spoilt for choice in 2013, with a huge selection of tours and tournaments for all bankrolls,” said Michael Caselli, editor-in-chief of Bluff Europe.

“It just goes to show that the UK is quickly becoming the place to be for those who want to develop their skills on the live poker circuit.”

The British Poker Awards, sponsored by PokerStars.com will hold its awards ceremony at the Hippodrome Casino on March 3rd, with live music provided by The Dukes of Mayfair.

Voting is now closed, however those wishing to attend can purchase tickets directly from the Hippodrome website. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

About The British Poker Awards (www.thebritishpokerawards.com)
